About

Hi there! You might be just like me. Years ago, I purchased a cheap guitar and brought it home fully intending to learn how to play it. I tried to learn how to play but gave up and put it back in the box. I just didn’t have the right teacher.

One day I was in a bookstore with a friend and saw a book. “Learn how to play guitar!” I picked it up and was looking through it when my friend came up and asked why I was looking at that book. I told him about my guitar in the box at home. He then said “If you promise to learn how to play your guitar, I’ll buy you that book.”

…Fast forward a few years…

I used that book to begin learning guitar. I soon learned that I needed more advanced help so I found a guitar teacher and took lessons. Now I play rhythm guitar with over 600 songs and I’m having a blast! I play songs from the 60’s through the present and have a lot of fun at it. I play Rock, Country, Pop, Blues and more.

Now that I have been playing for a while, I want to help other people who might be in the same boat and teach them how to play guitar! I teach the basics to get you playing rhythm. Whether you have an acoustic guitar, acoustic electric guitar or an electric guitar, I can teach you how to play it. I don’t teach wild soloing techniques used in playing lead guitar solos. If that’s what you want to do, once you learn the basics, you can find someone else to teach you that. The thing is, everything about playing a mean guitar starts with the proper foundation on how to play properly. Learn the basics and you are well on your way to fame and stardom! Or, if all you want to do is play at home, you’ve come to the right place!

By the way, since that first cheap acoustic guitar, I have bought and sold several acoustic and electric guitars. Each time I sold one, I upgraded to a better guitar. There’s a joke that I like to tell:

Question: When do you know when you’ve bought your last guitar?

Answer: After you buy the next one!
